About The LIVERSpot
Hello! I’m Kirstin Kidd.
In 2017, after leaving the corporate world to pursue a different more fulfilling life, I felt a pain in my side. I thought it was my kidney or my gall bladder. I went to my family doctor and after some tests, I was told that I had liver disease. I was told that if I didn’t make some changes, I’d be dead in 5 years. When I finally saw a specialist 6 months later, I was given the diagnosis of “end-stage liver disease” and that I would need a liver transplant. It hit me like a ton of bricks!
Since then, I have spent many hours, days, months and years researching, asking questions, and seeking out information to help me understand the liver, its functions and liver disease. By gaining knowledge, advice, and through trial and error, I have developed tools and techniques to keep myself as healthy as possible. At this point in time, I no longer require a liver transplant and my health is slowly improving but my path on this long journey of liver disease is not over…
If you are facing chronic liver disease, my wish is to help you by sharing my knowledge and lessons learned so you too can find a healthier life!
