After leaving a stressful job where I lived on coffee, I  found I’d stopped drinking coffee.  Then with a shift to healthy eating with my liver disease diagnosis, I continued to not really drink coffee anymore. Then my hepatologist said research found that drinking coffee actually helped the liver! She recommended two cups of coffee each day. Research so far has shown that besides coffee’s protective effects, it can actually reduce the risk of  some liver diseases and also lower the rate of disease progression.  Some studies have also shown that drinking coffee may actually help reduce the risk of liver cancer. Now I’m back to drinking coffee again!  Check with your doctor, and maybe add coffee to your daily routine! Your liver will thank you for it!
